To call is to match an amount of money of the most recent bet or raise.
The cage, in the casino room, is where the chips are exchanged for money
A calling station is a player who calls almost every bet. Its very difficult to bluff such a player. They tend to be passive players who rarely raise.
A calling clock is a request by an opponent to force a player to make an action if they are taking too long to play. Its not an actual clock, just metaphorical.
The limit on the maximum number of raises in a round is called the cap.
Poker Terms Cards
Cardrack means a poker player is expericning a hot streak of cards
The cardroom is the room where poker is played. Arguably this could be your loungeroom.
When a players hand is the most favorable possible combination of cards its called “Cards Speak”
Cards in the air refers to the time when the poker tournament begins
A Card Shark is an expert at cards.
Cards are 2 through to 10 and then Jack, Queen, King and Ace. The suites are hearts, diamond, spades and clubs.
Poker Terms Caribbean Stud Poker
Caribbean Stud Poker – Also called ‘Casino Stud Poker’, A casino table game based on the standard 5-card stud poker game played on a Blackjack-type table. Some casinos also offer a progressive jackpot paid to high ranking hands. This table game is played with one deck of cards.
Cashing out is to exit the game and exchange the chips for cash.
Case Money or cash chips are the last few chips.
When you are dealt are card you needed or when you expose a bluff it’s a Catch. Catching cards is getting favourable cards.
Check is if a player declines to make a bet. The player retains the right to call or raise later if another player opens.
Check raise is to check and then raise in the same betting round. Its an aggressive strategy which could be a sign of strength or a bluff.
To Cold Call a raise so that one player bets, the next raises and the next calls.
Colour Up is to trade your chips for ones of higher value.
Colt 45 are cards 4 and 5.
Poker Terms Community Cards
Community Cards are dealt face-up in the middle of the table; they belong to all the players still active.
Connectors are two consecutively numbered cards of consecutive which are dealt. e.g. an 8 and a 9.
Cowboys – synonymous with Kings.
Court Card is a member of the royalty as in the hack, queen or king
A Crying Call is made by a player not confident of having the best hand.
Cutting the deck is to divide the deck into two parts. This is done just prior to the cards being dealt.
